LEX: Data Backup Solution

Replication is a solution that mirrors information from one location to the next. Depending upon requirements each location may be in the same building (in the case of server-to-server or server-to-laptop replication), or anywhere in the world if using an offsite hosted server.

The replication system in LEX has been designed and built to overcome the shortfalls of current backup systems while giving major advantages for Chambers. In the event of a server outage, the server will usually need to be rebuilt and have data restored before your business can resume working, which could take several days. Replication provides a temporary failover to enable minimum downtime of your main LEX diary system in the event of a server outage. Chambers running LEX with replication can be safe in the knowledge that if disaster were to strike, then at the change of a URL in Internet Explorer, a complete mirrored version of their main LEX diary system would be accessible, with data as up-to-date as the main system was seconds previously.

Only LEX Replication can deliver these benefits:

  • Data refresh measured in seconds - not days.
  • An always accessible mirrored copy of the main diary data that can be swapped to within seconds on primary system failure.
  • Backup is always visible making verification easy for complete peace of mind.

NOTE: Replication is only a mirror of your chambers main LEX system data. Case documents, uploaded files and document templates are not currently replicated, and as such we advise that Chambers have an additional file backup in place. For Secondary Systems (or side installations) extra replication licences will be needed if you wish to replicate them also.
